Psalm 56-60

Here's how the study works: Read the chapters mentioned in the heading during the week and share any words, thoughts, verses that stood out to you. Having a week for several chapters creates the opportunity to revisit them and make additional comments as you feel inclined as well as make comments on other people's insights.

57:10 For great is your love, reaching to the heavens; your faithfulness reaches to the skies.

Despite his circumstances – being in the midst of "lions" (v.4) David recognizes God's great love and faithfulness.

Susan said...

58:3 Even from birth the wicked go astray; from the womb they are wayward, spreading lies.

We think children are innocent yet we are all born with a sin nature which causes us to be wayward from birth. We need God to turn us around.

Susan said...

59:9-10 You are my strength, I watch for you; you, God, are my fortress, my God on whom I can rely.

David watches expectantly for God, confident that God will come through for him.

Susan said...

60:12 With God we will gain the victory, and he will trample down our enemies.

David was a mighty warrior yet he knew that it was God who gave him the victories. It is God who tramples our enemies.
