Psalm 26-30

Here's how the study works: Read the chapters mentioned in the heading during the week and share any words, thoughts, verses that stood out to you. Having a week for several chapters creates the opportunity to revisit them and make additional comments as you feel inclined as well as make comments on other people's insights.

26:3 … for I have always been mindful of your unfailing love and have lived in reliance on your faithfulness.

David knew God's unfailing love and therefore was able to live in reliance on God. If we understand God's unfailing love we will trust him. When we struggle to believe God loves us, remember the cross.

27:13 I remain confident of this: I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.

David expected to see God's blessings. David had faith and God rewarded his faith.

28:8-9 The Lord is the strength of his people, a fortress of salvation for his anointed one. Save your people and bless your inheritance; be their shepherd and carry them forever

God carries us through our difficulties, not removes them. He is our strength and infuses inner strength into us (Phil 4:13 AMP).

29:11 The Lord gives strength to his people; the Lord blesses his people with peace.

Strength and peace – two things we need so much that God gives freely to his people

30:5 For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favor lasts a lifetime; weeping may stay for the night, but rejoicing comes in the morning.

The bad stuff passes, the good stuff is coming. The bad stuff is temporary, the good stuff is permanent.
