Acts 19

Here's how the study works: Read the chapter mentioned in the heading several times during the week and share any words, thoughts, verses that stood out to you. Having a week for a chapter creates the opportunity to reread it several times and make additional comments as you feel inclined as well as make comments on other people's insights.

v.11 God did extraordinary miracles through Paul.

Paul went through some extraordinary tough times. Many of us would like God to perform extraordinary miracles through us but are we prepared to go through the tough times which build our faith so God can use us?

v.5 On hearing this they were baptized into the name of the Lord Jesus.

In cases like this we worry about peer pressure. Did some only get baptized because the others did?

Perhaps we worry too much about peer pressure. Perhaps being part of a close knit group gives the support and encouragement that is needed to live out the Christian life.

v.18 Many of those who believed now came and openly confessed what they had done.

This happened after the incident with Seven sons of Sceva (v.14). Perhaps it was this incident that caused some to get more serious about their faith as we are told these people already believed.
