Acts 10

Here's how the study works: Read the chapter mentioned in the heading several times during the week and share any words, thoughts, verses that stood out to you. Having a week for a chapter creates the opportunity to reread it several times and make additional comments as you feel inclined as well as make comments on other people's insights.

v.4 The angel answered, "Your prayers and gifts to the poor have come up as a memorial offering before God."

A non-Christian got heaven's attention! And God sent him a preacher to get him saved.

v.29

So we see that Peter went but he didn't know what he was suppose to say. Yet Cornelius expect that God had told Peter what to say (v.33).

Sometimes we don't know what we are suppose to say however God will provide the words.

v.38 how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and power, and how he went around doing good and healing all who were under the power of the devil, because God was with him.

Jesus went around doing good. Likewise we too can go around doing good, being a blessing.

v.28 He said to them: “You are well aware that it is against our law for a Jew to associate with or visit a Gentile. But God has shown me that I should not call anyone impure or unclean.

It was only the Jewish food laws which prevented Jews from having fellowship with Gentiles so once God showed Peter these no longer applied there was no reason to refrain from associating with Gentiles.

v. 45-46 The circumcised believers who had come with Peter were astonished that the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out even on Gentiles. For they heard them speaking in tongues and praising God.

This was the Pentecost for the Gentiles. God gave the Jews and the Gentiles the exact same sign to show there was no racial distinction.
